How Our Tutoring Works
Our tutoring process is designed to ensure that every child receives the support they need to excel in reading and writing. Here's how we tailor our Structured Literacy Tutoring to fit your child's unique learning profile:
Step 1: In-Depth Literacy Assessment
Before tutoring begins, we conduct a comprehensive Structured Literacy Assessment. This evaluation helps us understand your child's reading strengths and pinpoint the specific areas where they need support. It includes tests for phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, and comprehension—giving us a full picture of their literacy skills.
Step 2: Personalised Learning Plan Creation
Using the insights from the assessment, we develop a personalised learning plan. This plan outlines targeted strategies and activities that will be used during tutoring sessions to address your child's individual needs. It's a roadmap for their literacy journey, ensuring that every session builds on their strengths and improves their weaknesses.
Step 3: Engaging Tutoring Sessions
Our tutoring sessions are interactive and multisensory, making learning enjoyable and effective. We use evidence-based Structured Literacy techniques to teach reading and writing, ensuring that your child is not only learning but also retaining and applying their new skills.
Step 4: Ongoing Progress Monitoring
We continually monitor your child's progress to ensure they are on track to meet their literacy goals. Regular assessments allow us to adjust the learning plan as needed, ensuring that your child is always moving forward.
Step 5: Support Beyond Sessions
We believe that learning doesn't stop when the tutoring session ends. We provide recommendations for activities and support that can be done at home to reinforce the skills learned during tutoring. This at-home practice is crucial for making lasting improvements in literacy.
Step 6: Parental Involvement
Your involvement is key to your child's success. We keep you informed every step of the way and offer guidance on how you can support your child's learning process. Together, we make a powerful team in your child's literacy development.

What makes our tutoring unique?
Individualised
Explicit
Multisensory
All Structured Literacy intervention lessons are highly personalised and customised to meet the learner’s profile, culture, identity, as well as interests.
Individualised instruction ensures the learner experiences regular success; thus, self-esteem develops directly from the learner’s achievement, and learning becomes a positive experience.
Instruction is presented systematically with concepts clearly stated, modelled, and practised. Moving from supported to independent practice enhances learning, leading to automaticity and independent application.
Explicit instruction makes no assumptions about students’ prior knowledge and ensures that the student knows what is to be learned, why it is to be learned, and how it is to be learned.
Structured Literacy instruction makes use of auditory (hearing), visual (seeing) and kinesthetic (movement) pathways during each lesson.
Multisensory activities encourage learning by engaging the student's focus and providing tactile reinforcement for enhanced learning.
